The scene the other day, when I was waiting for an Amtrak train from Lancaster, Pa., to NYC. A vignette more suited to the 1985 movie Witness than Reality, 2013.
In reality, the rest of the crowd was like any other anywhere. And yes, believe it or not, Lancaster’s pretty hooked in to the rest of the Northeast by train.
I’ve effortlessly launched many an exotic journey from there. Amtrak’s been working to get the 84-year-old station, dating back from the Great Depression (as opposed to the lesser financial crises), up to speed.
